Choose the section carefully. It should represent the important production challenges rather than only the easiest or most visually impressive moment. A slice that avoids saving, menus, or the actual target device may leave major questions unanswered.

State what the slice will demonstrate

List the included experience, expected finish, target platform, and acceptance tasks. Explain what remains temporary or absent. A polished encounter can be useful evidence without implying that the rest of the game is nearly complete.

Track the effort needed to produce it. The team can learn about asset workflows, integration, iteration, and review. That information can inform later planning, but one unusually difficult or carefully curated section should not be multiplied blindly into a whole-game estimate.

Review with several perspectives

Players assess clarity and experience. Developers assess stability and technical constraints. The project owner assesses whether the result represents the intended direction. Each view contributes something different.

At the end, record what can be reused, what needs revisiting, and which risks remain. A vertical slice is a concrete production milestone. It should support a decision about the next stage rather than become a polished demonstration whose limits are forgotten when the project grows.
